At Data Edge Limited, I have been involved from the very beginning in the implementation of Trust Bank Limited’s (TBL) Card Management System & Switching Middleware, a large-scale deployment based on Tietoevry’s market-leading Card Suite platform. Tietoevry, a global leader in financial services software, provides advanced solutions for card issuing, acquiring, switching, fraud management, settlement, and integration across multiple banking channels. Leveraging this product, the project aims to modernize TBL’s card services and strengthen its digital banking infrastructure. Phase-1 of the project, covering debit card issuance and processing, has already gone live successfully.
My contribution began with the data migration process, where I helped migrate all debit card data from TBL’s legacy system into the new CMS. This involved preparing raw data, converting it into XML through a specialized migration tool, and ensuring accurate field mapping and validation against Tietoevry’s system requirements. I also played a major role in the reporting module by using the CMS Reporting Assistant to design and deliver customized client reports. This required extensive research and development to understand backend processes through PL/SQL and apply XSLT for frontend formatting, enabling reports in TXT, PDF, and Excel formats.
In addition, I collaborated directly with the client to gather and analyze requirements, translated business needs into technical specifications, and coordinated with the development team to ensure smooth delivery. My role also extended to system analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation, ensuring phased delivery aligned with the bank's operational priorities.
This project has significantly enhanced my skills in data migration, requirement analysis, reporting development, SQL, XSLT, and system integration, while giving me valuable exposure to Tietoevry’s world-class banking technology.
